Lisa and I spent close to 5 hours in the hospital yesterday with Sherri Campbell, our Pastor’s wife. She was admitted yesterday with extreme abdominal pain. Sitting�with her and Pastor in the E.R. was a profound and memorable experience. In the midst of the worst of her pain she prayed and worshipped God. With tears running down her cheeks she thanked God for the privilege of experiencing the smallest part of the suffering Jesus felt on the cross. It was a moving moment watching a woman with a deep, personal relationship with God worship Him�in the midst of her pain.

It made me think…how do I view suffering? Is it a burden or a privilege? A nuisance or an opportunity for worship?

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
