I'm too lazy to go get my bible - BUT one of my favorite versus is...do not withhold a kind word when it's in your power to give it.

I live by that. I truly do. It is a powerful thing!

@Dean - Change sucks sometimes, huh? You hit the nail on the head though. We can't be content with mediocrity.

@jimhunt - Right on Jim! You got the idea! I've had the same experience with a good drive through attendant before.

Seeing a friend and her spiritual mentor from afar in a restaurant and paying their check without letting them know was a blessing to me indeed - great joy.

The best drive-in attendant I ever dealt with greeted me with a smile saying "hey friend" and "I will see you tomorrow." You know there were days that I repeated going through the drive-through because of her - not the fast food.

The littlest things can spark the biggest change.

Brad,

We've never met in person, but I'd imagine we'd get along just fine. I started at Starbucks the beginning of the year after getting laid off from a "professional" job, I understand how many opportunities I have to be that change. I fail miserably, no doubt, but I try to give the surprise drink/extra shot/extra niceness for the exact reason you mentioned. Too many of us (including myself) are content with subpar/average/whatever and I think Christ wouldn't mind chewing us out a bit over that one.

Great post.
