Vacation Pictures: Day 1

The wife, kids and I are on a much-needed vacation this week. We’re staying at a beach house on TopSail Island in North Carolina with some friends. The beach house we’re staying at is right on the beach so we’ll be spending lots of time hitting the waves (I’m already sore from my attempt at boogie-boarding).
Last night heard thunder in the distance and went out on the deck to watch a storm come rolling in over the ocean. It was one of the coolest things I’ve seen! Our friends’ son Tyler took the picture of the lightning over the ocean.

Wow Brad! I think the coolest thing I’ve ever seen was also a thunderstorm. Last August some friends and I went on a cruise. We were standing on a balcony, the sky was pitch dark, and off in the distance there was a thunderstorm. With every flash of lightning it seemed like the entire ocean lit up. It was amazing!

Bro, you are about 45 mins away from Wilmington. if you only were a little closer a cup of coffee at Starbucks might not be out of the question. Enjoy you stay here on the coast of NC.

i miss the beach so much. i grew up in So. CA and now live in SO. Oregon. hmmm. not quite the same. at all. we have a “coast” here. not a beach. it’s very traumatic…
