Pardon Me While I Vent (again)

Venting

I had another post written and ready to go this morning but it’s going to have to wait. I need to vent again.

As you know we’re having a rather difficult time trying to get our mortgage stuff together. Because I’m self-employed we’ve had to jump through quite a few hoops to prove that I’m a “financially viable” candidate for a loan.

Yesterday Lisa called my sister-in-law to have her pick up our mail that’s being held in Fort Wayne and overnight it to us here in Indy. I had a couple of checks that we need to deposit and show in our bank account in order to move the loan forward.

Imagine my frustration when my sister-in-law calls to tell me that they can’t find our mail! Lisa called to find out what the deal was and was told we would have to speak to the Postmaster in the morning.

This morning we called and found out that for the last 3 weeks our mail has been RETURNED TO SENDER! To make matters worse the lady Lisa spoke to didn’t even feel bad about it and said it was OUR FAULT for having our mail held for so long (even though we’ve spoken with supervisors multiple times over the last month to confirm it could still be held).

So instead of depositing checks today for our closing we’ve got to get new checks cut and track down who knows what else we’re missing from the last 3 weeks! Isn’t that just FINE AND FREAKING DANDY?!!?

It’s probably a good thing I’m not in Fort Wayne today because I feel like I’m about to go Postal.

It has been one thing after another. So sorry to hear about this latest development!

Going postal might end with you in jail (which would be worse than the current situation), so blog venting is probably the best mean of communication. :)

Good Luck and tell Lisa I’m thinking about her. Isn’t life easier when you’re on vacation??

wow…that stinks! i wish there was a immediate positive spin to put on it but it’s hard to see that right now. it’ll become more apparent as time goes on, and Lisa’s right–you guys will be laughing about it in a couple years

eesh…The same thing happened to me 3 years ago. My large family and I had to stay in a ghetto one room motel (econolodge). BUT we did get the loan, and it made us love our new home even more (and it seemed huge after the econolodge).
I’ll pray this thing gets expedited.

I’d offer a hug, but that’s just inappropriate.

Although the going postal thing could get you in trouble, it does sound like the funnest option.

@inWorship – Man hugs are appropriate only as long as you slap the guy on the back when you’re hugging him.

    @Reba – Yes, better days! :-)

@ClaytonBell – Dude, that would be one messed up sitcom!

Brad, I think you need to check out what makes Carlos smile (on his blog).
That might make you feel better and then you wouldn’t actually have to do the whole postal thing.

I’m telling you, don’t let it get you down. I know it’s a massive pain (was doing the same thing last October) but you’ll get through it, look back and see where God was in control in all the little places.

    Still praying hard for you.

@inWorship & Brad – actually, i believe man hugs require three pats on the back. I’ve always been told it’s Morse code for “I’m. not. gay.”

Brad – (1)I think you may be overdosing on Twitter. You know the @ sign doesn’t actually do anything on here, right? :)
    (2) I’m sorry about your postal woes. I never understand how you can get a different answer on “strict policy” every time you ask at the post office. But don’t worry, they’ve got a great plan to win you back – keep raising their rates all the time so that their dying service costs you more money AND inconvenience to use! =)

And yes, I know the @sign doesn’t do anything in front of a name in the comments. It just looks so Web 2.0 :-)
