This reminds me of the statistics if we shrank the world to 100 people - only about 60% or so would have high school educations, 50% of children would be living in poverty and around half of families would live on less than $2 a day. They really are humbling statistics and we should realise how lucky we are to live the lives we do. Is such a shame so many privileged people don't grab life and the opportunities that come their way and just squander their gifted life.

Just awesome. Period. Really impressed with your posts and your ideas. A mile long shoeless walk? That WOULD really get more people thinking and motivated to help! Thanks!

one of the finest and clearest memories i have from my first mission trip to South Africa, was seeing these teenage boys wearing shoes that were too small for them. so small in fact, that they cut the tops of them off and walked around with their toes sticking out. the little children not wearing shoes at all, and if they did, they didn't match. AND ME -- i brought more than one pair and wore a different pair on different days of our visits with them. a very convicting sight.
