5 Fall TV Shows I Can’t Wait To Watch

1. Chuck – September 29 (NBC)
I love Chuck. Partly because it’s so stinking funny and partly because the geek in me relates to the main character. The show is a perfect mix of comedy and action and Zachary Levi is perfect in the role of the bumbling, failed-at-love geek that you can’t help but love. If you haven’t seen this show yet go rent season 1 on DVD. You’re only  one season behind so you’ll catch up in no time. And if you’re a Chuck fan be sure to watch the new season preview – it looks awesome.

2. Heroes – September 22 (NBC)
I already established above that I’m a geek so of course I’m going to love a show that has to do with comic-book style characters with superpowers and evil villains trying to take over the world! Lisa didn’t watch the first couple of seasons with me even though I kept raving about how awesome they were. She gave in a couple of weeks ago and decided to rent the first two seasons on DVD to get caught up so she could watch it with me (she’s rocks!). This season is called Villains and it looks freaking amazing (watch the trailer here)

3. Battlestar Galactica (SciFi)
I do love my Science Fiction books and movies so of course I’m going to love a TV show about a race of robot human clones chasing what’s left of the human race through space to kill them. But it’s not just because there’s space ships and robots – this show has top-notch acting with an amazingly well-written storyline. Lisa is definitely not a sci-fi fan and even she likes it. And, unlike other shows who run way past their prime, Battlestar is wrapping it up this year after 5 very successful seasons. I’m sad to see it go but I can’t wait to see how it ends.

4. The Office – September 25 (NBC)
Do I really need to say anything here? The Office is hands down the funniest comedy on TV right now. If you don’t think this is one of the greatest shows ever I will fight you. And that’s no lie.

5. Fringe – September 9 (FOX)
This show is my wildcard pick. Even though I’m still upset at J.J. Abrams for taking a great show like LOST and dragging it out much longer than he should have, I’m still intrigued by the previews I’ve seen for this show. Maybe I’m a sucker for a well-edited trailer but it looks pretty sweet. JJ, I’m trusting you here. Don’t let me down.

What TV shows are you going to be watching this Fall?

I love Chuck, so glad to see it is your #1 that you are waiting on :)

I have to rent all of the Heroes. I started them and then they started conflicting with 24, which I am waiting until January for.

    Definitely waiting for the Office.

I am definitely interested in checking out Fringe as well.

I’m not much of a tv watcher except that I never miss an hour of 24. The new Logan Show looks to be pretty cool as well. Other than that, I like 3 1/2 Men

Were those in order of anticipation?

I agree about Chuck. My wife and I both got into it a lot. I didn’t expect her to, but throw in a little “love story plot” and she’ll be hooked. Same with The Office. We watched the from the first episode to the last on DVD or the computer this summer.

And LOST is still great! Esp now that they have an end date in mind. And I think JJ Abrams isn’t much involved anymore, but I, like you, am pumped for The Fringe

Your top 5 are the exact same as mine. All great shows and I can’t wait for them to start back up. I’m especially interested in checking out Fringe. Early reviews of the pilot say it’s so-so but that the show has a ton of promise. We’ll see!

Brad…I agree with you on all of these but Heroes does not have 1 minute of my attention.

For some reason I could never get into it past the first episode. You can correct me if I’m wildly out of line.

Brad- Love your list. I don’t have cable so no Battlestar Galactica.

I am intrigued with the Fringe too. Can’t wait to see it. I also like NCIS. My top 2 would be Heroes and NCIS.

Like the Office but always forget when it’s on! I end up watching it online mostly.

Brad, I love the shows on your list but I haven’t seen Chuck yet. I can’t wait for Battlestar to come back on, I just got into it a few months back and was completely frakin hooked.
So, what’s your take on Fringe so far? I saw the premiere (I am a huge LOST and Abrams fan) and wasn’t disappointed but also not wowed yet, like I was with LOST.
I’ll be at Catalyst (this is my 6th year going), I’d love to meet and talk for a few minutes (about Mac, ministry). I’ve enjoyed poking around your blog (got here through Lanny’s facebook – I used to work for him as summer staff)
