Civic Duty & Free Coffee

We all know what today is. It’s the day we get to exercise our rights as an American by casting our vote for the next president. Lisa and I spent about an hour last night in an amazing online prayer service with around 200 other people. Prayer for our next leader. Prayer for the other guy.

Starbucks decided to offer an incentive to anyone who has voted. If you go to any Starbucks today and tell them that you’ve voted they will give you a FREE tall coffee on the house. How cool is that? (ht: EvanCourtney)

I have two questions for you today:

1 – Did you vote?
2 – Have you prayed for our country and its next leader?

I voted about a month ago via absentee ballot. I am flying today to California to attend the National Outreach Convention and get to spend tomorrow in a workshop led by Dan Kimball. I am pumped. And I did better than a free cup of coffee, although I will collect on that too, I volunteered my seat on an oversold flight, so I got a free United ticket!

    Peace, kathy

I voted a few weeks ago by mail, and yes, I’ve been praying.

So in addition to free Starbucks, did you know Ben and Jerry’s is giving out ice cream too? And just this morning I heard that so is Krispy Kream Donuts. At least in the NW they are just for voting!! ;-) Vote and enjoy all the free treats – if you’re willing to stand in more lines!!

@Patty – Wow, I wasn’t aware of those giveaways too. I wish we had a Ben & Jerry’s by us.

@Linny – I feel your pain. Not having a SB nearby would be, well, tragic.

@Ric – Awww, come on Ric! Get out there and vote!
