in the new iMovie ‘08 you can rotate the video 90*. it does digitally enlarge it so that it fits the horizontal aspect, but you can position it.
not ideal though.

Not only did I have to turn my laptop sideways, but I had to keep rotating it as the picture switched which direction it was shot in…give her the regular camera!
