Things You Need To Know About Her

Things You Need To Know About Her

POSTED IN: Authenticity, Blog Posts, Family

I’ve written a lot of posts about my wife Lisa and some of the funny conversations we’ve had. Like the famous Tampon post or the conversation that started over her using my razor. I’ve poked fun at the way she shoots videos or the questions she asks and I’ve even gotten into trouble about some of the stuff I’ve said on Twitter.

I realize that through my blog I merely let you peek in on brief moments in our day-to-day lives. Based on those short glimpses I realize it would be easy to come to some incorrect conclusions about our relationship and how we function.

Here are a few things you need to know about Lisa and our relationship.

  • Despite all the joking around I do on my blog and Twitter about Lisa and some of the stuff she says, I think she is one of the most intelligent, intuitive and discerning people I know. I value her opinion and have learned the hard way when I’ve tried to do things my own way.
  • She has tremendous self-confidence and a wonderful sense of humor. We joke around with each other a lot and enjoy laughing at our own goof-ups. That’s why you’ll see plenty of light-hearted posts on both of our blogs. We love to laugh and have fun.
  • I never write anything about her on my blog that she doesn’t know about ahead of time. If it’s something she’s not comfortable with me writing about, I don’t publish it. Period. Her opinion is worth much more than a few cheap laughs.
  • We’re not perfect. We have our share of disagreements but 9 times out of 10 it’s because I was being a jackass, not her. When we do get into it we’ve both made the agreement that no matter what the argument is over that we’ll resolve it before we go to sleep that night. Sometimes that means late-night conversations (sometimes the middle of the night) but trust me, it’s worth it.
  • Above all else you need to know that Lisa is one brave, tough, amazing girl. It takes a special woman to leave her friends and family to move to a new city where she doesn’t know anyone – all because she believes in the dream that God has given us. She has always been my number one fan and biggest cheerleader in life. I couldn’t do what I’m doing without her.

So there you go. Important things you need to know about the woman I’ve pledged my life and love to. Like I said, we both love to laugh so I’m sure you’ll see plenty more posts about some of the goofy things we both do or say to each other.

It’s important to me that everyone can look past the laughs and see the person that I see. And the person I see is pretty fandamntastic.

I love my family more than anything but I still struggle to keep my passions and priorities in order. I’m passionate about the Church, its influence on culture, and making it better. I’m constantly challenging the process - examining what I do, why I do it and its relevance in today’s progressive culture. read more
