My 3 Favorite iPhone Games

My 3 Favorite iPhone Games

I’m a big fan of fun games for the iPhone/iPod Touch. They’re great for passing time when you’re waiting for a doctor’s appointment or sitting in the car waiting for a certain someone in the grocery store. There have been so many great games released for the iPhone/iPod Touch over the last few months making it the hottest new portable gaming platform. Here’s a few of my current favorites.

YAHTZEE Adventures

One of the first games I got was Yahtzee Adventures ($2.99). It’s still one of my favorites since it allows you to do multi-player with its pass-and-play. Even my 8-year-old daughter has picked up on it and kicked my butt a few times. If you’re into playing multi-player games with family or friends be sure to check out the fun Battle mode where everyone starts out with 100 points and you try to knock each player out until you’re the last one standing.

Fieldrunners

A few weeks ago, based on Ryan’s recommendation, I picked up the incredibly addicting Fieldrunners ($4.99) and have spent many hours on it. The $4.99 was the most I’ve dropped for an iPhone game so far but it’s been worth it. I’ve had to pry it out of the fingers of anyone I’ve let play it for even a couple minutes. Very addicting. So far, I’ve defeated the first two levels on the hardest setting (don’t even ask me how long it took) and am working on the last one.

WordFu

My new favorite game just released last week and is currently a steal of a deal for only $.99. It’s called WordFu. If you’re a fan of Scrabble, Boggle or any word games you’ll love this game. It’s not just the game that’s fun though. The game designers did an amazing job incorporating awesome sound effects, crisp 3d graphics and music into this fun little game. The MachDice technology it’s built on makes the best use of the iPhone’s/iPod Touch’s accelerometer out of any game I’ve seen. I was pretty happy with my high score of 1487 until my sister-in-law played and set a new high score of 1954. Grr…

These are a few of my favorite games I’m playing on the iPhone/iPod Touch right now. What are you playing? Got any suggestions?

Great…now I have to buy that WordFu game and see if I get addicted to that one.

Did you update your fieldrunners game? I finally beat both levels on hard and then they come out with a newer…harder level. I’ve completed easy and medium…I just haven’t defeated it on hard yet.

I’m digging Word Warp (58900). One of those game with 7 letters and you have to get the 7 letter word to continue and all the other words for more points.

Also digging Monopoly from EA, Falling Balls. One of my favorite for fun apps is iPity. If you remember A-team, it’s great to have B.A. Baracus in your pocket whenever he’s needed.

Since I cycle through iPhone apps like a lunatic, I really enjoy this post. When it comes to games…I would have to say my Top 3 are as follows:

    1. Fieldrunners (Best. Game. Ever.)
    2. SolFree (it’s free – and I can play a game in a minute or two. Plus it’s FREE!)
    3. …not sure here – maybe Bejeweled2, Hold’em, Yahtzee, Tangram Pro?

Anyway…off to try and conquer the Drylands. Again. ARGH!
