Blogging is a great way to keep records of what was going on in my past. I can go back a year or two and see what God was doing in my life and what He’s brought me through.
It’s also an opportunity to engage in community between friends and strangers alike. I love being able to connect with someone in a creative way that makes me think and makes them think.
Blogging also challenges me to keep moving, keep working, keep advancing, keep creating, keep challenging.

I blog for a number of reasons…but the main ones would have to be:
1. It makes me happy
2. I love the idea of a ‘digital scrapbook’ that my family can enjoy for years and years
3. It keeps my friends and family who don’t live near an opportunity to stay up to speed
…and I really think the most important one (from a sanity standpoint) is:
4. I have a great job – but it gives me ZERO opportunity to do anything creative. Blogging on the other hand? Endless opportunities.

To chronicle what God is doing in my life, how he speaks and what happens when he moves… that’s why I started blogging… but then people started asking for prayer, so a ministry started up. Anne Lamott advises writers to put down 300 words a day. Every day. I hate to do that and nobody read them. So I blog. Hopefully it keeps the writing part of my head in shape.
And to learn and teach. I love to learn and then share what I’ve learned or am struggling to understand with other folks. I usually end up learning a great deal in the process.
To mobilize and inspire. I truly believe words can spur others on to good deeds.
To make people laugh. It’s bad habit I picked up in the third grade. Words can be funny. And it just feels good to make someone else laugh – even if they’re laughing at my expense – even better when they’re laughing at theirs.
Because I’m certain I’ll lose my mind the older I get. My blog is my scrapbook. I plan to scroll through it in the nursing home to remind myself of the life behind me. So, in a way, I’m writing now to entertain and educate myself when I’m 90.

I blog because people really are interested in what I have to say and I am very important.
Seriously though….I started simply because I needed a place.
I work alone, only have interaction with clients and not friends or co-workers.
My blog is where I can share my stupid ideas, thoughts and just ramblings about life. And quite often get some cool feedback on it.
What I love about it is the “blog” friends I have met.
