I’m A Secret Agent With A Microsoft Obsession

One of the fun things about blogging is getting emails from my readers. Although I must confess, I don’t think I’ve ever received an email like the one Jonathan sent me the other day:
You don’t know me, but I’ve been a blog follower for a few years and thought you might get a kick out of a dream I had about you. Now before you dismiss me as a nut-job, let me tell you that I don’t have pictures of you around my bedroom. I guess I was thinking about your April Fools love affair with Microsoft a few years ago, and I’m a 3 days old owner of a new Macbook…so make of that what you will.
Anyways I had this dream that you and I were top-level CIA agents living in some 1980’s Russian condo. It was like something out of a great 80’s Bond film, really muted colors, cloudy skies, and old clothes hanging everywhere. Anyways we were running away from some Russian spies, when you realized they were going to get to your secret computer files, so you told me to go back to your secret hideout room and destroy all your files.
But when I arrived in your secret part of the house, I discovered a Bill Gates Memorial. You had one computer running Windows 3.1, one running Windows 95, one running Windows ME (who even remembers that one?), one running NT (3.5 and 4.0), one running XP, and of course your favorite…Vista. There were Bill Gates posters all over the walls, and burning candles underneath of Bill Gates infamous mug shot picture. I stumbled in and freaked out.
Of course somehow this transported me back to current time and I thought of what an Apple fraud you were, and what the masses would think if they knew your true obsession… Then the russian spies entered, started shooting up the place, and my 3 year old daughter started asking for breakfast. That last part wasn’t a dream, but is instead how I usually wake up in the morning.
So there you go. You’ve officially entered my dream world. I will now go and watch something really manly on television, and try to erase the fact that I just emailed a dude about a dream I had about him.

I got such a kick out of this email. Now if Jonathan and I ever meet face-to-face, we’ll have to overcome that awkward knowledge than one of us has had a dream about the other.

I had a dream that I rode with Lance and had a chance to share Christ with him and he listened. Seriously, the first part of that is true and the second is a wannabe. Don’t they say dreams are unfulfilled wishes? I can’t remember when the last time I had a dream since I am so tired at the end of the day and tend to sleep soundly. But my last dream? I can promise you weren’t in it.

The other night I had a dream that there were some snakes in my bed. I ripped the covers back, jumped out of the bed and started frantically trying to turn on the closet light.
My wife, who, based on my actions, thought there was something seriously wrong, said, “Calm down. What are you doing?” When I realized that it was just a dream, I responded, “Uhh… Nothing.” and got back in the bed.
The next morning she was like, “What exactly were you doing in the closet last night?” To which I responded, “What?!? Didn’t you see the snakes in the bed?”

@Shannon – I’ve had dreams like that before. I think the last one I had like that involved spiders.

Brad, you’ve never been the man of my dreams…my dreams usually involve old high school acquaintances playing pogs in outer space (which reminds me a lot of my office) while riding on unicorns. Weird, huh?

too funny.
weirdest dream I have had lately was that I was cast for a movie about Hockey. Now I am a huge hockey fan but not a player.
For the role I had to learn to skate, play at a NHL level and then learn to act…all in 5 days.
Somehow with the magic of dreams, I pulled it off until another guy checked me into the wall and I woke up.
I watch way to much Hockey obviously.

That is so funny.
I dreamt that I was in a Matrix kind of movie. Black leather … awesome fighting and all. Instead of transporting through telephones, we had to get inside clothes dryers.
Turns out I had left a load of damp laundry in the dryer. The crazy power of the subconscious!
