Could Success Be More Dangerous Than Failure?

Could Success Be More Dangerous Than Failure?

POSTED IN: Blog Posts, Makes You Think

I read an interesting quote the other day that really made me think.

Failure is hard, but sucess is far more dangerous. If you’re successful at the wrong thing, the mix of praise and money and opportunity can lock you in forever.

Po Bronson
Author, What Should I Do With My Life?

We’re often told that failure is a necessary step on the road to success. But this quote raises a good question, are we pursing the right success for us?

Could success be more dangerous than failure?

Absolutely. People always learn from failing….success however does not usually lead to a learned moment because when you are successful you feel as if you did everything correct…sometimes you are just lucky!

    Great piece

This is so true! In my life i struggle with not having control over every aspect of my life. I need to learn to listen to what God has planned for me. I may want something, but it may not be what he wants. Lord i ask you to bless me on the road to figuring out what im supposed to do with my life.

It’s not failure we’re afraid of, it’s actually success.

David Vallieres wrote a special report on ’success vs failure’ it was called ‘Fail Faster for Success’. In that report he suggested that failing faster in low-risk situations was the way to help you succeed faster, because, if you can eliminate what does not or is not working for you, then you can more quickly discover what does work and move forward towards being successful.

The real reason is that they are more comfortable as a ‘failure’ or simply like the position they are in. Strange as that sounds when you hear it, it’s so profoundly true.

The core of your writing whilst appearing reasonable originally, did not truly work extremely nicely with me following some time. Somewhere within the paragraphs you actually were able to create me a believer but just for a whilst. I however have a issue together with your leaps in assumptions and one would do well to fill in those gaps. Within the event you can accomplish that, I will surely be impressed.
