It’s always fun when you get to turn people on to new music that you love. I discover and tell people about new artists all the time.

Name three songs by the same artist that you’d recommend to someone who’s never heard them.

I couldn’t agree more. I was already a big fan of NeedToBreathe but their latest album just blew me away. Amazing stuff.

Great choice of songs to introduce someone to them.

@May yep…definitely one of my favorites!

In fact, “Washed By The Water” is very special to me for two reasons:

    1. My dad is a minister (has been for over 40 years) and this song declares the strength of faith my dad has had over the years facing criticism, etc.

    2. My daughter is terrified of storms. This song is the one she loves because of these lyrics:
    Even when the rain falls
Even when the flood starts rising
    Even when the storm comes
I am washed by the water

It gives her comfort knowing that God is with her.

@chad houck – great choice. I haven’t heard his new one yet, but I liked him, and saw him in concert back when he was still going by his original name. Great concert experience too.

Not my favorite band ever, but my favorite recent discovery would have to be Vampire Weekend. (Warning, not all songs are exactly “kid-safe”) – http://www.amazon.com/Vampire-Weekend/dp/B0010V4TZU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1253279368&sr=8-1

    A-Punk – http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011BICDE/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk3?ie=UTF8&qid=1253279368&sr=8-1

Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa – http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011BKQPQ/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk4?ie=UTF8&qid=1253279368&sr=8-1

    M79 – http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011BICE8/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk5?ie=UTF8&qid=1253279368&sr=8-1

Sorry – don’t know the format for creating links here.

If the person is into something a little “heavier” I’d strongly recommend Red (http://www.myspace.com/dropofred). They’re lyrics are really powerful and deal with some tough things. I’ve seen them live twice and love their stuff.

    Shadows
    Never Be The Same
    Breathe Into Me

If they don’t prefer that style of music I’m with @Pamela – I’m a huge fan of Mark Roach!
