I’ve been looking forward to Catalyst for most of the year now, but I’m equally excited about something that takes place the day before Catalyst: the Atlanta Bloggers Meetup. I just posted the details and sign-up form yesterday and spots are already filling up fast.

Last year’s meetup was a blast. Over 75 bloggers that either lived in Atlanta or were in town for Catalyst showed up to meet people they had previously only known through blogging and Twitter. I myself met people there that I’ve become good friends with since. I’ve always believed and said that blogging and social media is only valuable if it leads to actual face-to-face interaction.

This year we’ll be meeting on Wednesday, October 7 at 7 PM at the Loafing Leprechaun, which some of you remember who were there last year. Because of space this event is limited to the first 100 people who sign up.

So head over to BloggersMeetup.org for details or to sign up. We’ll be Tweeting about it using the hashtag #BloggersMeetup. And if you feel like letting your blog readers know I’ve made a couple of sidebar graphics (300px & 125px).

I can’t wait to see you there!

Thinking about it. I’m not attending the conference so it’s a long drive there and back for me.

Tell me why you’re excited about this, Brad? Maybe that’ll sell me ; )

Shaun – If you come, I’ll buy you dinner. How’s that for incentive?

I love my family more than anything but I still struggle to keep my passions and priorities in order. I’m passionate about the Church, its influence on culture, and making it better. I’m constantly challenging the process - examining what I do, why I do it and its relevance in today’s progressive culture. read more
