Grace Like Rain

Grace Like Rain

Last night we had a pretty good rain storm come through, complete with flashes of lightning and rolling thunder throughout the night. I always find it so easy to sleep with the sound of the rain falling on the roof and the gentle booming of thunder in the distance.

This morning I woke up to a beautiful blue sky washed clean by the previous night’s rain. The drops of rains still on the leaves and plants sparkled as the sun caught them when it came up. The air is crisp and fresh. As I write this I’m sitting by one of our windows looking outside and feeling refreshed by this beautiful morning.

I was reminded of this beautiful cover of Grace Like Rain by Aaron Keyes.

Hallelujah, Grace like rain falls down on me,
Hallelujah, all my stains are washed away, washed away

It’s so easy to forget about this amazing grace that washed our hearts clean just like an evening rain shower. The sin, hurts and failures of the past are washed away leaving us fresh and clean in God’s sight.

How can we not sing “Hallelujah” for a grace like that?

I’m constantly challenging the process - examining what I do, why I do it and its relevance in today’s progressive culture. read more
