Compassion Relief In Haiti
POSTED IN: Blog Posts, Compassion
By now we’ve all seen the horrific images of the unfathomable destruction that befell Haiti on Tuesday. It’s hard to comprehend pain and loss on that large of scale.
Compassion International, the organization that I’ll be traveling to Kenya with in March, works extensively in Haiti. Compassion sponsors serve more than 65,000 children in Haiti, a third of which live in the areas that were hardest hit.
In an email I received from Compassion last night they said:
Without a doubt, the children we serve in Haiti are in shock and face immediate needs for food, water, medical care, shelter and counseling. We have teams prepared to respond, and we are deeply committed to helping each child.
I would urge you to join me in giving to the Compassion Haiti Earthquake Fund to help Compassion relief teams work with children and families devastated by this earthquake. All money given will be used to provide immediate help and relief to those hardest hit.
Here’s what your giving can do:
- $35 helps provide a relief pack filled with enough food and water to sustain a family for one week.
- $70 gift helps care for their needs for two weeks.
- $105 helps provide relief packs filled with enough food and water to sustain two families for two weeks.
- $210 gift helps care for two families’ needs.
- $525 provides relief packs filled with enough food and water to sustain 10 families for two weeks.
- $1,050 gift cares for 10 families’ needs.
- $1,500 helps rebuild a home.
- $2,100 supplies 20 families with the basics for three weeks.

Obviously there are many excellent organizations that are on the ground in Haiti or heading there soon and they all need our help. They need money and volunteers. And, most importantly, they need our prayers.
