We’re A Colts Family

We’re A Colts Family

Our family has really been getting into the Colts games this year. Chloe and Emily have lived most of their lives in Indiana so they’ve really only known the Colts as their home team. Lisa and I grew up in Michigan so I guess you can call us turncoats. But seriously…the Lions??? Who can blame us?

We were Colts fans before but since we’ve moved down to Indianapolis the die hard fans down here have pushed our fanship to a whole new level. On game day you can’t go anywhere without seeing blue and white jerseys everywhere. The excitement in the air is contagious.

Before we turn the game on we have to get ready…jerseys and colts gear go on, footballs get pulled out and stuffed animals are properly attired in blue and white. And then there’s sometimes a pre-game phone conversation between the girls and their Grandpa in Michigan arguing about whose team is better (poor Grandpa).

After the game starts there’s lots of yelling and cheering.

But even the most dedicated Colts fans get sleepy on a comfortable couch during a late game…

…which usually means I end up watching the rest of the game cheering just a little quieter.

On those nights I carry Chloe to bed after the game is over. She usually manages to wake up just enough to ask me tiredly who won and what the score was.

“The Colts did sweetheart. Sleep tight and dream of the Colts winning the Superbowl…”

What team do you or your family cheer for on game days? On a scale of 1-10 how big of a fan are you?

If they rooted for a real team like the Patriots, they’d probably be able to stay awake. =)

Ugh, living in KC, the Chiefs haven’t given us much to watch the last couple of years. I have to watch everyone else, and see how our rivals are doing.

I grew up in Oklahoma (#NFLfail)…so when I married Dale, I adopted the Titans as my team, as he was born in Nashville…home town trumps us living in Cali with all the football here! We LOVE football…and on the rare occasion that we have the pleasure of having a Titans’ game on TV here, we whip us some football food and enjoy the game together…and every year, Dale and I go see them play in a different stadium…3 so far! And how big of a fan are we? Caedmon, our 15 month old, LOVES football and whenever any team gets a touchdown, yes, even the Colts, he throws his hands up in the air and we yell, Go Titans! and he gets all excited…and he recognizes the logo on shirts and stuff and throws his hands up in his touchdown stance…it’s way cute!

BTW – I want to see the Colts and the Vikings in the Superbowl, hoping the old man can win one more before he retires again.

Living in Tampa Bay, I’m a die-hard Buccaneer fan. As long as you define die-hard as peacock-proud during their Super Bowl run, and eye-rolling malcontent ever since.

By the by, our affection for former Bucs (and now former Colts) coach Tony Dungy has caused us to root for Indianapolis over recent years. His faith and character are quite a witness!

I grew up in PA so I am supposed to say Steelers. However, they don’t have a cycling team that goes by that name. Since I live in Spencer, IN I am surrounded by Colts fans. Imagine that! On a scale of 1-10? -5. (Does that let you know that I don’t care?) :)

Sorry. Maybe it would have been better to have said, “I don’t watch football…at all.”

We live in Indianapolis as well, but my wife isn’t a big football fan. She’ll watch if the game is big – like tomorrows game and the Super Bowl.

The Colts are my second favorite team (my 1st, the Cowboys are already out… I’m getting over it). Going to pick up a cheap jersey on my way to church in the morning from Walmart. GO COLTS!
