POSTED IN: Blog Posts, Family

The other day the girls were cleaning their bathroom when Emily came running into the living room telling me she had seen a ball of fire that had scared her. Emily has a vivid imagination and generally doesn’t like to work so I just assumed she was inventing an elaborate story to get out of her chores. I went to check nonetheless.

This is what I saw when I walked in the bathroom:

Evidently Emily was cleaning and decided to hang Chloe’s necklace on the nightlight. The chain shorted out the plug leading to the “big fireball” Emily told me about.

Yet another close call for Emily who manages to keep her guardian angels working overtime. :-)

Have you had any close calls lately?

Yikes…good thing she didn’t get herself a serious shock! I’ll bet she never does it again.

This is the kind of thing that makes you double-check your home-owners insurance policy!

My daughter plugged her clock radio in and saw a ball of fire like that. We ended up replacing all the outlets, because we were afraid they would start a fire. We used to have them short out a lot if more than one outlet was being used.

That’s crazy!!! My daughter recently stuck on of my wife’s pearl earrings in an outlet. I came home just in time to catch my wife about to dig it out with a fork :^)

This happened because Emily was cleaning?

See, I’ve always suspected that cleaning was dangerous! I’m sending my wife a link to this post right away!

Yikes! Sounds like she keeps you on your toes. :-) I suppose it’s a good way to get out of cleaning next time.
