New Album from ‘She & Him’

It’s been a couple of months since we’ve talked about music here on the old bloggeroo. That’s probably because I’ve been too busy to really buy or listen to any new music lately.
However, there was no hesitation when my calendar reminder popped up letting me know that my much-anticipated new “She & Him” album dropped today (yes, I’m one of those geeks who puts stuff like album release dates and movie openings in his calendar).
Most of you fell in love with Zooey Deschanel’s character (and voice) from her singing in the shower scene in Elf. After coming to the spotlight in Elf she hooked up with M. Ward to form the band called She & Him. She even appeared on the July/August cover of RELEVANT magazine. Their first album was mysteriously called Volume One…implying of course that there would be a Volume Two, right?
She & Him’s sophomore album released today called…can you guess? Yup, Volume Two. What the album lacks in creative titling it more than makes up in sweet Deschanel and Ward goodness. Granted, not everyone will dig the 60’s-California-Country-AM-radio vibe. It’s a unique sound but one that I find refreshing and fun to listen to.

I can’t get into her voice or music. I’ve tried a few times but I just don’t like it. I do love her as an actress though
