Hairless Dog: Cute or Creepy?

Hairless Dog: Cute or Creepy?

POSTED IN: Blog Posts, Cute or Creepy?

My girls have been begging for a dog for a couple of years now. Since we moved down to Indy we haven’t really had the yard, time or patience to consider adding a canine companion to our life. Lately Chloe has been showing more responsibility so we’ve finally begun the process of looking for a dog. It started with a trip to the Animal Shelter last weekend to learn about the cost and requirements.

Chloe has been researching dog breeds online and already has a few breeds she loves. I’ve been telling the girls that I’m going to find an ugly, hairless dog to bring home and that we’re going to name it “butt-head.” I usually get lots of sighs, groans and eye-rolling (and usually a nasty look from Lisa)…we’ll see who’s rolling their  eyes when I bring home a dog like this:

I know there are some die-hard dog-lovers out there but seriously? When I found this dog pic I knew it was time for another Cute-Or-Creepy post.

What do you think of this hairless pooch…Cute or Creepy?

Are you sure that’s a dog? I usually love dogs, but I’d have to go with creepy on this one.

I think most Chinese Crested dogs look creepy in pictures, but for the most part they are cute in person. Just have to worry about those teeth! They are prone to gum disease which makes their teeth fall out, then there’s nothing to hold their tongues in their mouth!

Reminds me of an episode from the Addams Family television show.

If Cousin It had a pet, this pooch would be it.

My neighbors considered getting one of these. They actually had someone bring one over to see how their other dog would react to it. It was creepy. And not cuddly like a dog should be. But I have to admit that they way it was shivering was kind of cute! haha But over all, I’d have to go with creepy.

That is so totally a take home to Lisa pooch right there, man.
And you have to post her facial expression when you do.

By the way Brad, if you really want to see something creepy, check out the music video I posted this morning. Mr. Spock singing a hobbit song while wild go-go dancing erupts around him. It’s creepy and campy.

    Like me.

I think it’s kind of ugly, I wouldn’t want one (I’m more of a cat person) but the poor thing looks so vulnerable!

    Brad,

I’ve sought the lord long and hard about this. I feel His will is for Chloe to have a little terrier named, Tinker Bell. Lol.

    That is just butt ugly.

I’m not a fan of rat-face dogs to begin with, but this just makes it worse. There are these types of dogs with their hair and it makes them look less ugly. Still have that rat face though.

Get a Boxer. You won’t have your man card revoked as you would if you bought something like this. You’ll get a dog that is smart, faithful, friendly, absolutely wonderful with kids and makes a great watch dog.

I love dogs so this pains me to say… that dog is ugly. And I own a pug, so I really shouldn’t be talking about ugly dogs. Get a pug. Low maintenance; hardly bark; great with kids; lap dogs. Can’t go wrong.

Definitely a creeper….they do have fairly good personalities, though. The ugliest dog in the world a couple years back is in Phoenix, and it’s the worst thing you’ve ever seen, I tell you.
