The first thing that comes to my mind is the time we locked ourselves out of our house.

The short version is: we live in a small rural town, with (apparently) one locksmith, and he was in the hospital that day. So it took several hours to get back into our house.

My poor pregnant wife had to pee like Sea Buscuit, but she was a trooper.

Yeah….that was over 3 years ago, and she still talks about it. I keep reminding her of the forgiveness of Jesus, and how we should do likewise!

I once got my wife these little chocolate candies that she loves (and are hard to find). In my smoothness, I called and said, “I have a surprise for you today, and I know you’ll love it…’cause it’s food.”

I woke up one Saturday morning thinking it was Sunday and I ran out of my room and said to my dad “Daddy?!?! It’s ALMOST 9:00 (that’s when we leave for church)!!!!!” and he was like “Yeah….” and then I remembered it was only Saturday…duh!

Got in the van. Started it. Foot on the brake, put it in reverse. Remembered something I needed in the house. Took foot off brake and jumped out of the van. Van started down the driveway. Lucky for me I was able to jump back in and step on the brake. Prayed that no one in the neighborhood saw me. Dumb, dumb dora!

I had a “Duh” moment. I pulled into the gas station, paid for the gas and left without getting it. Luckily, I remembered that I hadn’t pumped it before I left the gas station and was able to back up to the pump I was at and put the gas in. I felt so stupid…
