Bloggers Meetup Recap

Bloggers Meetup Recap

POSTED IN: Blog Posts, Blogging

Last Wednesday was our third-annual Bloggers Meetup before Catalyst (wow, have we really done three of these already?). We switched up a few things this year. First, the restaurant we’ve met in for the last two years closed (R.I.P Loafing Leprechaun) so we were forced to find a different location. The place we met was less than ideal since they squeezed all 100+ of us into a tiny area on their patio with seating for 45. Let’s just say that everyone was nice and cozy. :-)

We also had the opportunity this year to sell tickets with all funds going directly to our good friend Alece Ronzino (pictured below with myself and Spence Smith) and her amazing ministry Thrive Africa.

Alece is an unsung ministry hero, bravely pushing on when many others would have quit and walked away. Her story has inspired so many people and I was thrilled that we were able to raise a little extra money for her and introduce her ministry to some new people (by the way, if you didn’t get a chance to give to Thrive that evening, you can do so here).

And, as usual, everyone walked away with a couple goodies including the new CD by The Afters (thanks to INO Records) and Anne Jackson’s amazing new book Permission To Speak Freely (thanks to Thomas Nelson).

It’s always fun meeting new friends and connecting with old ones. The Bloggers Meetup combined with Catalyst make the beginning of October one of my favorite times of the year. This was our biggest Bloggers meetup yet with 105 tickets sold and even more people who showed up throughout the night!

Here’s a few more pictures from the evening (thanks so much Amy Beckey for taking and sharing these!).

You can view these photos and more tag yourself in our Facebook Photo album. Also, for those of you who asked about the Twitter name tags, you can find them at www.ImAt.me.

Thanks again to everyone who showed up and made this another amazing Bloggers Meetup! See you next year!

It was great to meet you and everyone else at the meetup then talk for a little while at the conference itself. Thanks for making this happen!

This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the night. Steph and I got inspired and decided we want to run a youth pastor meet-up next year…of course, on a different night! Some of my favorite conversations happened here. Thanks for putting it together.

This genuinely made the conference for me. No lie. I mean, based on prior experiences other years at Catalyst, I was kind of expecting to be moved/challenged/inspired by the speakers.

This was a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement – and that there was clear benefit to the night (Thrive) beyond networking opportunities was just the icing on the cake. It was a little disconcerting to have people tell ME they’d read my blog and liked what *I* wrote, instead of vice-versa as it typically is. Not that I’m COMPLAINING, mind you… :)

    Kudos to you, Brad.

Now, when’s the next social? :)

Great photos of what looks like a great event. One day (maybe this year?) I’d love to meet up with all the people I’ve been reading.

Looks like a great time. Will you be doing this again this year? And if so, where and when?
