I agree with you!- It is downright disgusting!- I have a poodle and pom/yorkie mix and they kiss each other all day long! and I mean they make a love fest of it after they have both cleaned each others genitals and their faces. Need I mention after they have both been out in the yard eating god knows what! I love them both dearly but neither of my dogs are allowed to kiss me. They lick my hands all the time as a way of saying thank you and I allow that but I immediately wash them afterwards. Some people are just nasty and disgusting! YUCK!!

Wow, some great advice here. There are often times I wish I could go back and change things, but I truly believe that everything that happens to you in life is meant to have been done.

This reminds me of the statistics if we shrank the world to 100 people - only about 60% or so would have high school educations, 50% of children would be living in poverty and around half of families would live on less than $2 a day. They really are humbling statistics and we should realise how lucky we are to live the lives we do. Is such a shame so many privileged people don't grab life and the opportunities that come their way and just squander their gifted life.

Zooey Deschanel has a beautiful voice - you'd expect her to really as she is as beautiful as a porcelain doll too. Jet are deffo Aussies. I also agree with Gavin - Air's Moon Safari is timeless - I went to see them almost ten years ago and still listen to their albums.

I just read your blog. I, too, am an idealist, and I am a leader of a department where my idealism does not work. I constantly voice what I see as possible, and keep getting shot down from above, below, and on the same line.

My boss is worried about me becoming disappointed with my mindset. I fear that if I give up my idealism that I will cease to exist as who I am. I am not jaded, but can feel the forces that are trying to make me that way. There are more days than not where I just want to say I give up, I will give up all idealistic thoughts and be the cog in the machine until my time comes. I will also swear to squash idealism in anyone else I see, not only to protect them from themselves, but to keep up the status quo. Yes, I can be cynical too. I do not believe the universe or the world is out to get us and make us drones. Sometimes it just seems that way.

So, Brad, it is indeed a struggle. I am in my forties and fighting it now more than ever. Somewhere there is a balance..I just don't know where.

Well, I believe that Dan was given a second life because he deserves one. He has been a good man and he has been rewarded for the kindness he showed. I also believe that maybe it was not his time to die just yet.

I think torture is NEVER ACCEPTABLE! Torture can permanently damage people. maybe its just a flesh wound, but that does not mean it will not haunt them for the rest of there life. And are you willing to live with yourselves if they are not guilty and you have permanently damaged them. Are you willing to take that bet. There are confessions of people who are not only tortured but are the ones torturing other. The ones that are tortured are not the only ones being hurt. Your making another human being throw away their humanity and hurt someone they may not even know. They have to watch and make another person scream out in pain. Do you think that would not damage them too. So when you think about torture remember that it is not only one person being damaged, but two!
